59 songs competed for a place in the WSC .47 final. The decision was hard to take as for the last qualification spot in Heat A and B, it was a really close race. Saint Kitts & Nevis failed to qualify as the song received 20 votes, one less than Italy. In the same heat, Croatia also missed the final for one point, just like the Netherlands in heat B.

On a possible maximum score of 360 points, Canada received 182 points, so a little bit more than 50%. Enough to win these semi finals. Portugal came second while Argentina, which came first in heat A, only finished 7th, all heats mixed. United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and even Brazil, which came 4th in Heat C, did better.

Romania voted on time, but with a mistake, and couldn't correct it as the warning mail was sent on the last day of voting. That's why it was allowed to go to the final. On the other hand, Cyprus didn't vote at all, and was then disqualified. The jury decided that Estonia had to take the available spot. The jury also decided to give a chance to Venezuela (Heat A), Morocco (Heat B) and San Marino (Heat C).
