The World Song Contest was created in March 2005. Inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest, the WSC is an attempt to make the boundaries fall. Music does not have limits, that is why all the countries of the world can take part in this contest. 17 countries subscribed, which is a good start. But only one of the 17 participants of this first edition was a non-European country. That's only a beginning and let's bet that more non-European countries will join in the future. From pop music to electro, different kinds of music were represented. Some international hits were also submitted. But the final results showed that it could be a disadvantage. The United States of America finished 6th with the song "What You Waiting For ?", performed by Gwen Stefani. The song was a top 10 hit in several countries at that moment. Other big stars were also there, just like Anna Vissi for Cyprus and Joss Stone for the United Kingdom. But none of them managed to win. Dimitris Korgialas and Katerina Moutsatsou gave the victory to Greece with the song "Mia Fora", receiving the "12 points" from three countries. The podium is also composed by Serbia & Montenegro (2nd) and Poland (3rd). >> Your Comments
