Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre met each other for the first time in Zaragoza, while they were looking for a discographic company. Eva was studying Art and Juan was playing music with his band. Both of them had the same tastes, the same music influencies, so the posibility of creating a new project together was born. They called themselves after Eva's surname, "Amaral". Their music mixes a lot of styles, such as rock, pop, grunge, and even the portuguese fado. Eva's expressive voice and the intimate guitar sounds from Juan made them famous all over Spain. In 1997, they began playing in clubs around Madrid, with a lot of success, they signed a contract with Virgin records. Their first album "Amaral", made them famous. But the best way to make them famous was their second album "Una pequeña parte del mundo" ("A little part of the world"), with the collaboration of Bunbury. The success allowed them to release their third album "Estrella de mar" ("Starfish"). This album was a fast hit, one of the most sold album in Spain. Songs like "Sin ti no soy nada" ("Without you I'm nothing"), or "Toda la noche en la calle" (All night in the street), became classic hits in the spanish music history. They went on tour around Spain and South America, receiving superb critics and selling 5 million copies of this Album. A record! They have received a lot of awards, such as the MTV "BEST GROUP" in 2002, and a lot of PREMIOS AMIGO (awarded by the Spanish academy of music). Their last album "Pájaros en la cabeza" (Birds on the head), released in 2005 and recorded in London, has been massive. Whole Spain has played, listened and sung their singles, "El universo sobre mi"(The universe over me), "Dias de verano" (Summer days), and "Marta, Sebas, Guille y los demás" (Marta,Sebas,Guille and the others). Simply one of the best band in Spain!!
